UK’s First Ever Bitcoin-Powered Music Gig to Be Held in Westcliff-on-Sea

Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex – May 23, 2025 – Into the Valueverse, the UK’s first-ever Bitcoin-powered music event, is set to take place at The Fickle Pickle in Westcliff-on-Sea, bringing together groundbreaking technology and live music in a way never seen before on British soil.

The event features an exciting lineup of independent artists, including Longy (Southend’s own genre-defying rebel), Joe Martin (a rising name in UK Americana), and Nathan Abbott (a soulful Essex-based singer-songwriter).

What makes Into the Valueverse a true first is its fully interactive format. Powered by Bitcoin’s “value-for-value” model, both in-person attendees and global viewers can send real-time support directly to the artists during their performances via small Bitcoin payments, known as “boosts” or “zaps.” The gig will be livestreamed worldwide via Podcasting 2.0 apps and NOSTR Live, making it accessible and participatory across borders.

A similar event held in Texas in late 2024 raised over $5,000 in real-time Bitcoin contributions from global fans — demonstrating the potential of this new model for independent artists and fans alike.

This marks a bold new direction for music and digital culture in the UK — and it’s all happening in Essex first.
